The first church in Charleston, was originally at another location. After being destroyed in a fire, it was rebuilt on Church Street. It is believed that the communion railing from the earlier church was used as the entry railing under the west portico of the new church. It is from this bit of history that we have drawn our inspiration for the St. Phillip's Collection.
